Scotiabank Inspired Investment Contest
CONTEST PERIOD
1. This contest commences on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. EST and ends on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. EST (“the Contest Period”).
HOW TO ENTER
2. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, register at www.mochasofa.com/scotiabank, with all required information, read the official contest rules, confirm that you have read and agree to the contest rules and regulations on the registration page and click on the Register button to submit your entry.
For a free, no-purchase entry and to obtain official rules for the contest, print your name, address, e-mail and telephone number on a plain piece of paper and mail it along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage to: Scotiabank Inspired Investment Contest c/o Transcontinental Media, 25 Sheppard Ave. W., Suite 100, M2N 6S7. Only one (1) no-purchase entry per person allowed. To be eligible, entries must be received during the Contest Period.
3. All entries become the property of The Bank of Nova Scotia (“Scotiabank”). No responsibility is assumed by Scotiabank for any lost, late, damaged, destroyed, misidentified, illegible or misdirected entries or for any other such problems occurring in connection with participation of this contest.
WHO CAN ENTER
4. This contest is open to all legal residents of Canada who are residing in Canada and who have reached the age of majority according to the law of the province in which they reside by the start of the contest date. Employees, members of their immediate families and persons domiciled with employees of Scotiabank, its advertising and promotional agencies or the contest organization are not eligible.
THE PRIZE
5. There will be one (1) grand prize awarded consisting of a $10,000 Scotiabank investment. Approximate retail value of the prize is $10,000. Investment product may include GICs, mutual funds, RRIFs and RESPs.
6. The prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-transferable. Prize money must be invested in a Scotiabank investment product for a minimum of one year.
CONTEST DRAW
7. A random draw will be conducted at 25 Sheppard Ave. West in Toronto, Ontario on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. EST from all eligible entries received during the contest period.
8. The chances of being selected depend upon the total number of eligible entries received.
HOW TO WIN
9. In order to win, the selected entrant must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question posed by telephone by a representative of Scotiabank, at a mutually convenient time. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted in a timely fashion or if, for any reason, the prize cannot be awarded, another contest entry will be randomly selected and so on, until the prize has been awarded. Arrangements will be made for the awarding of the prize at the time the skill-testing question is administered and correctly answered.
10. By entering this contest, entrants agree to abide fully by the contest rules and regulations and the decisions of Scotiabank, which are final. The winner will be required to sign Scotiabank’s standard release documents before receiving the prize and authorize Scotiabank to announce and publish his or her name, address (city only) and photograph or likeness, in the future without further compensation, or other obligation to the winner.
PRIVACY POLICY
11. Scotiabank will use the contact information provided in contest entries for administration of this contest. Scotiabank may retain and use this information for any future marketing of its products and services to you.
GENERAL INFORMATION
12. Scotiabank reserves the right to withdraw, terminate or modify all or any part of this contest by publishing a notice on-line on mochasoft.com if for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned, including corruption, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or any other cause beyond the control of Scotiabank which in the opinion of Scotiabank affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this contest.
13. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.

14. Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
